Rental Terms

Required for Rental
• Original Driver’s License from country of issue.
• Cost of Rental (Payable by Debit, Credit Card – VISA, AMEX, MASTER or Cash).
• Local Driver’s Permit is Mandatory.
• Other Additional Charges may apply.

Other Conditions

Drivers
Hirer/Driver must be a minimum of 25 years and possesses a valid driver’s license of which he/she has obtained for no less than (3) three years. Persons over 70 years of age must supply a doctor’s certificate.
Only the  person/persons  whose name/names   is assigned on the contract is allowed to drive the vehicle.

Permits
For drivers with a foreign License, a Local permit is necessary; this can be obtained from the traffic department of the St Vincent police Headquarters in Kingstown and also at the airport, Cost is XCD$100 or USD$40. There is no charge for Caribbean commonwealth nationals with a valid license from their country and neither  for persons holding a valid international driving permit. Please note that your original driver’s permit from your country of issue or your international driving permit must be presented at the time. 

Insurance
Insurance is covered by Sentry (west Indian Insurances Ltd) in St. Vincent.  All vehicles are covered by a comprehensive insurance , including EC$250,000.00 liability for passengers and third-party personal injury coverage.

The hirer accepts full responsibility up to US$1,100 for loss, damage. or loss of the vehicle caused by accident, fire, or theft, regardless of who is at fault. A Pre-Authorization is a one-time transaction that will be placed on your credit card for an amount of US$700 which is a collision loss/damage insurance coverage and will be released as soon as vehicle has been returned and all necessary checks are made and satisfied. Please note that the release time varies depending on your issuing financial institution.

Delivery
Delivery is free of charge to the airport for arriving guests and to the guests’ hotel or apartment.

Airport Office
Redtop’s Auto Rental does not operate an airport office now, however if you requested pickup at the airport as you exit the Arrivals Hall, clients should make their way to the Customer Service desk where our Rental Agent would be waiting to assist you.
The opening hours of our airport operation are 7:00 am – 11:00 pm daily. If your flight is delayed and arrives after 11:00 pm, please telephone our office at (784) 496-6007 after 8:00 am the following day to reschedule your delivery.

Prepaid Reservation Policies – Pay Now
By booking a prepaid rate, the payment will be charged before the start of rental with the estimated total amount of the rental (rental charge plus any other agreed charges and taxes for the full agreed rental period). The driver and confirmed method of payment shall be finalized at the time of reservation and cannot be changed. The confirmed method of payment must be valid and available for presentation at the time of pick up and is subject to the conditions of payment above. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this payment method. A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.

A prepaid booking can be changed up to 72 hours before the start of the rental (depending on availability). An alteration fee of US$15 applies. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lower rental cost. Any changes made to a prepaid reservation may impact the rental rate.

A prepaid booking can be cancelled a week or more before the start of the rental. In the event of a cancellation, any refund of the payment made towards the rental is subject to a cancellation fee. For reservations with a rental period lasting no more than two days, the total prepaid amount is non-refundable. For reservations with a rental period lasting more than two days: The first two days are non-refundable, the remaining days will be refunded.
If the booked vehicle is not collected, or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
